    Antiquities

    Nineteen Terra-Cotta Heads (See Figure - 1) from an antique 2nd or 3rd Century A.D and they correspond to the Gandhara type very closely. A stone torso of Varaha Avatara is a welcome addition to the Brahmanic Gallery.

    Paintings and Manuscripts

    Of the six paintings acquired from the 1935-1936 year, as prominent may be mentioned one representing Ganapati on a processional ride (See Figure - 2) and another depicting the coronation of Sri Rama Chandra. Two paintings represent Krishna's activities (See Figure - 3) and one modern painting is supposed to preserve the beautiful features of Nur Jahan. A Jaina and a Persian manuscript were also acquired. The former visualizes amongst various other things, the conditions of life in Hell (See Figure - 4), and the latter is probably a fragment of the Shah Nama (See Figure - 5).
